The world of tech is booming right now, and although it’s often seen as a male-dominated industry, we want to shine a spotlight on 10 incredible Nigerian women who are excelling in their tech careers.

Let’s celebrate their achievements, learn from their experiences, and dare to surpass their accomplishments!

  1. Odunayo Eweniyi-  CoFounder/COO, Piggyvest

Odunayo Eweniyi is a Nigerian business executive and activist. She is the Co-founder and Chief Operations Officer,PiggyVest. PiggyVest is an online savings platform that provides users with secure savings and investments options, to manage and grow their finances.

She is also the co-founder of Feminist Coalition (FEMCO) and was listed on Bloomberg in 2020 and Time Next 100 in 2021 for her joint contributions during the End SARS Protest of October 2020. In March 2022, she won the Forbes Woman Africa Technology and Innovation Award.

2. Temidayo Salako – Head of Community at Tunga

Temidayo Salako is a highly experienced professional with 6+ years of cross-sector experience. She has led teams and managed programs and projects in various sectors, including Not-For-Profit, Business, Alternative Education, Technology, and Social Impact.

She is committed to this vision and is currently empowering and investing in Africans to help them achieve their full potential.

3. Ire Aderinokun- Cofounder, COO, and VP of Engineering of Helicarrier

Ire is the co-founder, COO, and VP of Engineering of Heli-Carrier, a YC 18 company building cryptocurrency infrastructure for Africa and providing Africans with unlimited access to financial services. Heli-Carrier is behind products such as BuyCoins, SendCash, and SendCash Pay. She is also a founding member of the Feminist Coalition (FEMCO), a group of YOUNG Nigerian women dedicated to promoting gender equality in Nigerian society.

4. Abiola Rasaq –  Founder of The Bug Detective

Abiola Rasaq is a QA Lead and the founder of “The Bug Detective,” a software testing community that is dedicated to driving quality in African tech solutions. Abiola’s passion for software testing has led her to establish a thriving community of over 800 members, where she mentors and trains newcomers in the field.

5. Ifeoluwa Dare- Johnson- Founder/CEO, Heathtracka

Ifeoluwa Dare-Johnson is a healthcare enthusiast with a passion for Africa-focused healthcare conversations. Currently, Ifeoluwa is focused on building a solution that decentralizes lab testing, providing easier access to essential medical services. Her dedication to improving healthcare in Africa has driven her work in this field. She is always looking for ways to create innovative solutions that will have a lasting impact on the industry.

6. Ada Nduka – Founder, SheCode Africa

Ada Nduka is a software developer and open-source advocate who leads Interswitch Group’s Developer Relations. She is also the founder of She Code Africa and Open-Source Community Africa, both of which focus on women in technology and open source. She hosts a podcast show for forLoop Africa, one of Africa’s largest developer communities, where she talks about tech issues while interviewing various tech personalities.

7. Oladiwura Oladepo – Executive Director, Tech4Dev

Oladiwura Oladepo is a social entrepreneur who is dedicated to improving people’s lives and society. She applies her skills and knowledge to assist individuals and organizations in creating value and making a difference in their communities.

Oladiwura’s work focuses on finding innovative and long-term solutions to social challenges, and she is constantly looking for ways to improve the world around her. Oladiwura’s work as a social entrepreneur aims to effect positive change and inspire others to do the same.

8. Chisom Nwokwu – Software Engineer, Microsoft

Chisom Nwokwu is a software engineer who works with Microsoft’s sustainability team to help the company reach its goal of becoming carbon negative by 2030. She is heavily involved in the development of customer-facing experiences, services, developer dashboards, and tools to improve optics, and she has demonstrated expertise in querying, manipulating, and reporting on big data platforms.

9. Seun Runsewe – Senior Product Manager, ChipperCash

Runsewe has quickly risen through the Nigerian tech ranks, holding several C-Suite positions at fintech. She built Sterling Bank’s Switch, worked as a Product Director atOPay, was the Business Lead atPaystack, and was the Vice President of Growth at Softcom Limited, among many other positions. As a Senior Product Manager at Chipper Cash, she oversees the company’s products in 9 countries across three continents.

10. YanmoOmorogbe- Co-Founder/COO Bamboo

YanmoOmorogbe is Bamboo’s co-founder and CEO. Yanmo is also Bamboo’s COO, in charge of operations and growth. Bamboo is an investment app that allows the average Nigerian to invest in major technology companies like Google, Twitter, and Amazon. Bamboo allows users to buy, hold, or sell stocks of New York Stock Exchange companies.
