If you ask most women today how they’re feeling, the answer will likely be, “Tired!” Many of us are running on empty, juggling work, family, relationships, and everything else in between. This tiredness isn’t always a result of being busy, it is mostly tied to what’s happening inside your body.

Stress, low iron levels (thanks to menstruation), or even lifestyle habits can all play a role in how you feel. If you are currently feeling this way and do not know what to do about it, keep reading!

Rest, Rest, Rest

Listen to your body. Are you sleeping enough? Women often push rest aside to “get things done,” but you need quality sleep! Create a bedtime routine, dim the lights, put your phone away, and try calming activities like reading or meditating before bed.

Engage in fun activities

Too much rest can make you feel even more tired. So, whenever you feel fatigued, it’s time to get your body active! Take a walk, dance, stretch, or do any physical activity. You will be amazed by the wonders it can do for your mood and body.

Start eating right

What you eat plays a big role in how you feel. Foods rich in iron, like spinach, beans, and lean meat, help combat fatigue caused by low iron levels. Add vitamin C (oranges, tomatoes) to help your body absorb iron better. Snack on nuts, seeds, or a piece of fruit for quick energy boosts instead of sugary treats that cause crashes later. If you struggle with finding the right meals to eat, you can use dietary supplements.

Drink lots of water

Sometimes when you are feeling drained, it is an indication that you might just be dehydrated! Aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day. Infuse it with lemon, cucumber, or mint for some extra flavour. And yes, coffee is great, especially for our 9-5 ladies but don’t rely solely on caffeine, drink water!

Check In with your Doctor

If you feel fatigued no matter what you do, it might be time for a health checkup. Conditions like anaemia, thyroid issues, or hormonal imbalances could be affecting your energy levels. Don’t ignore persistent tiredness—your health is too important. Always bear in mind that when you treat your body with kindness and take good care of it, it will thank you by showing up strong for all that life throws your way!
