We live in a world were looking good is everything! Everywhere you turn these days, there’s pressure to “look good.” We’re investing in bone straight wigs, lash extensions, waist trainers, designer bags and all these means very little if the inside is empty, bitter, jealous, or unkind.
Sis, we can do much better than just looking pretty on the outside. So how do we start becoming better women from the inside out?
Let’s start with these simple things.
1. Be kind even when it’s not convenient
Kindness is free, but it’s powerful. Check on your friends. Compliment that stranger. Don’t be afraid to say, “I’m proud of you” or “You’re doing well.” Those little things matter more than any makeup beat.
2. Celebrate other women genuinely
Someone else’s light doesn’t dim yours. Whether she’s getting married, promoted, glowing, or finally launching her business, clap for her. Loudly. There’s enough room at the top for all of us.
3. Heal your heart
Sometimes we act out of jealousy, envy, or anger because we’re carrying old wounds. It’s okay to admit that. But it’s also time to start healing. Therapy, journaling, prayer, talking to a mentor, or whatever helps you unpack and grow, do it.
4. Be honest with yourself
Are you the friend who always takes and never gives? The one who gossips or always has something negative to say? It’s okay. We’ve all been there at some point. But now, it’s time to check it and choose better.
5. Support without expectations
Do it because it’s the right thing to, not because you expect something in return. Show up for your girls. Share their work. Speak their names in rooms of opportunity. And don’t keep score.
6. Love and accept yourself
Loving yourself isn’t just about bubble baths and aesthetics. It’s setting boundaries, saying no when you need to, choosing peace over drama, and giving yourself grace on hard days. When you truly love yourself, you become less insecure and more secure women don’t tear others down.
7. Pray for a good heart
Seriously. Ask God to help you become the kind of woman that uplifts other women, that chooses love over hate, peace over pride, and growth over gossip. Ask Him to fill your heart with compassion and wisdom. At the end of the day, your character will take you further than your beauty ever will. Don’t just be a beautiful woman, be a better woman for yourself and for other women.
