One thing history keeps teaching us is that women don’t rise alone. Many of the biggest wins women are celebrating today didn’t happen by chance, they happened because someone opened a door, shared knowledge, lent a voice, or pulled another woman up.

Across corporate spaces and entrepreneurship, the women who go far are often the ones who give first. As we celebrate International Women’s Day this March, it’s a good time to talk about you can focus on impacting other women to attract success.

Choose to mentor a woman

Remember that moment when someone believed in you, gave you a critical piece of advice, or opened a door that helped you make progress in career? You can be that person for another woman. Whether it’s formally mentoring a junior colleague, offering guidance to an aspiring entrepreneur, or simply sharing your experiences over coffee.

Ibukun Awosika didn’t just build a successful career; she intentionally mentors women, speaks openly about growth, and creates spaces for women to thrive. Today, she’s respected not just for what she achieved, but for who she helped along the way.

Use your voice and influence

Mentorship is advice, but sponsorship is active advocacy. It’s about using your position and network to champion another woman, recommending her for opportunities, promoting her achievements, and speaking up for her when she’s not in the room.

Think of Oprah Winfrey. Beyond her success in media, she built her legacy by telling women’s stories, funding education, and amplifying voices that were often ignored. That impact didn’t slow her down, it multiplied her influence globally.

Collaborate with other women

Instead of seeing other women as competition, imagine the power of collaboration. Can you partner with another woman on a project? Co-found a venture? Share resources or client referrals? Two (or more!) heads are often better than one. Collaboration can lead to innovative ideas, shared burdens, and access to new markets or skill sets you might not have on your own. It broadens your horizons and multiplies your impact.

Investing your time and money

This can be anything from investing in women-led businesses, contributing to organizations that support women’s economic empowerment, or simply dedicating your time to causes that uplift women. Beyond the intrinsic reward, investing in women creates a more robust economy and society, which ultimately benefits everyone, including you. It positions you as a visionary who champions progress.

Small acts still count

Giving back doesn’t always mean starting a foundation or writing big cheques. Sometimes it is recommending another woman for an opportunity. sharing what you know without gatekeeping, supporting a woman-owned business, being honest about your journey. These “small” acts create ripple effects you may never fully see.

The most important thing here is that you are not being drained will doing it. It should be intentional and aligned with your season. When women pour into other women, everybody wins. So, as we celebrate women everywhere, remember that the more impact you create, the more success you attract.
