Big news for Nigeria and an inspiring moment for women everywhere! Princess Owowoh Oluchukwu has just become the first Nigerian female officer to graduate from the prestigious United Kingdom’s Military Academy. At the age of 24, she stood out among 135 Officer Cadets during the Sovereign’s Parade, marking the culmination of 44 weeks of rigorous training as part of Commissioning Course 232.  This is a huge deal, not just for her, but for all women who dream of breaking barriers and achieving greatness.

Princess Owowoh’s journey to this point started in 2018 when she joined the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna State, Nigeria.  Throughout her time at the NDA, Princess demonstrated exceptional leadership and academic prowess, earning successive appointments such as Cadet Lance Corporal, Cadet Sergeant, and ultimately, Company Senior under Officer Charlie (CSUO C) in her fifth year. Notably, she, along with two other female counterparts, made history by being the first females to assume the position of CSUO in the academy.

Princess’ academic excellence was highlighted by her completion of the Academics Wing of the commissioning course during her fourth year, where she attained first-class honours in Biological Sciences. She definitely did not have it easy, coming from Nigeria, she faced numerous challenges, but her determination, hard work and unending support from family and friends paid off.

This is a huge win, proving that Nigerian women can thrive in even the toughest situations. Princess Owowoh has broken the glass ceiling, paving the way for more women to follow. Her story is a powerful reminder that no dream is too big and no barrier too high if you stay committed to your goals.

After her graduation, Princess Owowoh expressed her gratitude and highlighted the importance of perseverance. “This is not just my achievement; it’s a victory for all Nigerian women. We can achieve anything we set our minds to,” she said. Her words are a reminder to keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles.

As we celebrate Princess Owowoh Oluchukwu’s incredible achievement, we’re reminded that with hard work and determination, anything is possible. Her success lights the way for others to follow, showing that the sky’s the limit.
