Abisola Olusanya, a remarkable woman, has achieved an unprecedented feat by serving as the Commissioner of Agriculture in Lagos State for a second consecutive term in 2023. Her dedication and commitment to her role are truly inspirational, and we’re thrilled to witness someone so deserving in a position of authority.

Abisola’s journey began in 2001 when she pursued a degree in Architecture at the University of Lagos. After five years of rigorous study, she obtained her MBA in General Management from the prestigious Lagos Business School—an impressive achievement, to say the least.

In 2011, she joined Olam International, a global food and agriculture supply chain company, and her exceptional performance quickly propelled her into senior management roles. As a regional sales manager, she oversaw operations in Ghana and collaborated with stakeholders worldwide.

Abisola’s public service journey in Lagos State commenced in August 2019 when she was appointed as Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Agriculture. Her management and operational expertise contributed to the success of the Lagos Rice Mill project.

In November 2020, she made history as the first female Commissioner of Agriculture in the Ministry’s 56-year history due to her exceptional competence and dedication to transforming Lagos State’s agriculture sector.

She passionately advocates for agriculture’s importance, even amid economic challenges and climate change. Her commitment lies in increasing food production and generating job opportunities in Lagos State.
