Every now and then, you come across a story that reminds you that where you start in life does not have to determine where you end up. The story of Grace Ofure Ibhakhomu is one of those stories many can relate to.

Today, many people know Grace Ofure as a successful entrepreneur, wealth strategist, real estate expert, author, philanthropist, and the Founder and CEO of Lifecard Group. But long before the awards, recognition, and business success, there was a young woman with humble beginnings, and a determination to create a better future for herself and others.

Born in Ekpoma, Edo State, Grace’s journey was far from easy. After graduating from university, she found herself selling second-hand clothes, popularly known as “okrika,” in open markets. It was not the glamorous life many imagine when they think of successful entrepreneurs today. Yet, those difficult days taught her valuable lessons about hard work, persistence, and the courage to keep going when the odds seem stacked against you.

One of the defining moments in her journey came when she was introduced to the world of real estate. At the time, she had little experience and limited resources. But she saw an opportunity where others saw obstacles. Determined to learn, she immersed herself in understanding the industry, seeking knowledge, guidance, and mentorship. What started as curiosity soon became a life-changing path. Through dedication and strategic thinking, she gradually built a thriving business that would eventually grow into a globally recognized real estate brand.

In 2019, Grace had founded Lifecard International Investment Limited, where she now serves as CEO. Under her leadership, the company has grown well beyond Nigeria’s borders, expanding its real estate footprint into multiple countries. Grace didn’t stop at property, she went ahead and founded Lifecard University, an online learning platform built to hand financial education to anyone hungry enough to reach for it. She’s also the visionary behind Platinum Invest and the New Money Summit, both designed to help everyday people build wealth thoughtfully, even without ever owning a single property themselves.

In December 2020, she established the Grace Ofure Foundation, a charity dedicated to empowering women, children, and youth, and around the same time launched the Nigerian for Nigeria Initiative Awards to celebrate everyday patriotism and community impact. Through this foundation, she continues to give back to society, proving that true success is not only about what you achieve for yourself but also about the lives you uplift along the way.

For women especially, there is so much to learn from Grace Ofure Ibhakhomu’s story. She teaches us that confidence grows when we dare to take chances, that setbacks are not the end of the road, and that our dreams remain valid no matter how humble our beginnings may be. And perhaps the most beautiful lesson of all is this that your story does not have to start perfectly for it to become inspiring.
